International Training Opportunity

This summer you have the opportunity to join i² Ministries for four weeks in Brazil as we bring our world class professors together to train over 200 Brazilian missionaries in reaching the Muslim world for Christ.

With years of both practical experience and intensive studies in Islam, our professors will provide you with substantial tools needed to effectively evangelize Muslims, whether you encounter them in your own home town or feel called to world missions.

All training will be done in English with live interpretation into Portuguese. Course materials will be available in both languages.

The courses to be offered during this year's live training include:

• Joshua Lingel - Christian Apologetics to Islam
• Jay Smith - Muslim Evangelism Post-9/11
• Jeff Morton - Church Planting in a Muslim Context
• Sasan Tavassoli - Christian-Muslim Theological Issues

Costs:

$1,250 per student, includes tuition, room and board for four weeks, food, and all course materials. Students will be responsible for their own airfare to Brazil, which typically costs between $800-$1,100 depending on day of travel. Additionally, each student will need to secure his/her own visa from a Brazilian embassy for an additional $100.

Muslims and Christians hold a number of beliefs in common. Both believe in one God, in the virgin birth of Jesus, and the miraculous powers of Jesus in raising the dead and healing the sick. Both believe God communicates to mankind through prophets and written scripture.

For a number of years, Muslim apologists have been engaged actively in polemicizing or arguing against the basic tenets of Christianity. Literally tens of thousands of Muslims have been trained and sent out across the globe to convince others of the truth claims of Islam and to undermine Christianity. Imams regularly teach their congregations during Friday services how to argue against the Bible, the deity of Jesus, the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, and the trinity.

One example of these attacks against Christianity can be found in the written and video materials of the late Ahmed Deedat of Durban, South Africa. Deedat for many years was viewed as the best Muslim scholar to go on the offense against Christianity. Others have since come along, but Deedat is still held in high regard. One of his most famous encounters was a debate with Jimmy Swaggart; there are very few Muslims that have not either seen or heard about this debate.
